Mazda will produce the future models in the Fiat Factory

Mazda will produce the future models in the Fiat Factory

Recently, Fiat has announced that the future Alfa Romeo Spyder will be manufactured on the same production line with Mazda MX-5. This collaboration may lead to new partnerships between the two car manufacturers in the near future.

During an event held at the Chrysler plant from Illinois, Sergio Marchionne, Fiat and Chrysler’s CEO announced that it is possible that the two factories and manufacturers to build the next Mazda models. Also it claims to be open to proposals for partnerships with any other manufacturer.

Over the time, Fiat has worked with several manufacturers. For example, Fiat 500 is produced in Poland in the same factory where is built Ford Ka, and Fiat Punto divides the production line with Sedici Fiat, Opel Corsa and Suzuki SX4 in Hungary.

Machionne claims that more and more producers find it difficult to build and improve their own platforms and engines. These partnerships are designed to reduce the cost of production and provide a quality product.
