Altus Positioning Systems Receives Certification to Sell Surveying Products in Russia

Altus Positioning Systems announces that the company is now certified to sell its high-precision APS-3 GNSS surveying products in Russia.

The certification was awarded by the Russian Federal Agency on Technical Regulation and Metrology (ROSSTANDART) in late 2011. Moscow-based Technokauf LLC, a provider of surveying equipment and software, managed the certification process and will resell the certified Altus products in Russia.

“During testing, we found the Altus APS-3 high-precision GNSS receiver to be one of the best modern receivers with outstanding technical characteristics. The unit includes an open architecture, and reliably received signals from GPS, GLONASS and SBAS satellites,” said Valentin Tsukanov, general director of Technokauf. “Extreme temperature tolerance is very important in Russia. The Altus receivers operated dependably in temperatures ranging from -40 to +65 degrees Celsius. We also tested the Altus equipment to ensure it met all of the parameters noted in the user manual and other official documents, especially the accuracy in static and RTK modes.”

The Altus 136-channel APS-3 is a compact, lightweight, portable GNSS RTK receiver. It is based on the high-precision Septentrio multi-frequency AsteRx2e engine. The unit is completely configurable from the data collector via Bluetooth for either base or rover operation with the internal UHF radio or for network rover operation with the internal quad-band GSM/GPRS modem. Its removable 2-GB SD card enables plug-and-play of raw data transfer for post processing.

Technokauf LLC supplies surveying equipment and software to Russia and CIS countries. The company’s staff includes experienced survey professionals, and resells well-known brands manufactured in the USA, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland.
