Citroen Reduces The Emissions Of DS5 Hybrid4

Citroen Reduces The Emissions Of DS5 Hybrid4

citroenNowadays, carmakers are trying to build vehicles that are as environmentally friendly as possible. Their efforts have led to cars like the Citroen DS5 Hybrid4 that has recently become even more environmentally friendly. That’s because it has suffered some technical improvements as well as a few updates that target the management software used for controlling the hybrid powertrain of the car.

This Citroen is powered by a combination between a diesel engine with a capacity of 2.0 litres and an electric motor. That combination is able deliver 200 horsepower and now is also capable of emitting only 91g/km of CO2 emissions. That number is achievable if you choose to pair the engine combination mentioned with the Airdream EGS6 gearbox signed by Citroen. If you choose models with more impressive specs and larger wheels you should expect the numbers to stop being so impressive. So, if you want to benefit from significant tax reductions you should focus on the DSign cars and forget all about the DStyle and DSport versions available because those are responsible for CO2 emissions that have dropped only to 102g/km. That means they are not able to help you avoid the road tax.

The good news is that if you are really interested in a DStyle or a DSport model, you will be able to equip it for free with 17-inch alloy wheels instead of the 18-inch alloys that come by default. If you do that you will lose some of the advantages of the mentioned versions but you will lower the CO2 emissions to 91g/km, so you will be able to still enjoy all the tax benefits of interest.

The other good news is that although all these changes have been made, the Citroen DS5 Hybrid4 is still made available in exchange for the same old prices. So, if you are interested in a DSign version that’s also the entry-level version you will have to get ready to spend £27,600. That budget will have to be boosted to £30,100 for the DStyle version and increased to £32,300 if you are interested in the most expensive model available, the DSport version. All these versions are actually on sale as we speak.
