The singer, who entered the reality contest in 2012, has blasted Cheryl for her comment that she only chose Katie for the live shows because she would make ‘good TV’.

Wanting to make her response equally public, Katie took to Twitter to blast the Geordie singer, writing “@cherylcole I thought you were better than this. Shame I trusted you. you live and you learn’.

Writing in her book Cheryl: My Story, the “Call My Name” singer admitted that she “wasn’t sure” about Katie but that Simon Cowell influenced her decision.

Instead of booting Katie out of the competition when she forget the words to her audition piece, Cheryl wrote that ‘Simon had spent the past two years drumming into me that we needed acts who would be “good TV.”

But it wasn’t all bad as Chez did admit that she thought Katie was “quirky, intriguing and busting to succeed”.

Clearly Katie didn’t think that was much of a compliment.
