This new Kia Carens is expected to hit the UK market in 2013’s spring and impresses with a redesigned grille, chiselled fog lights, and better shaped headlights that remind of the Cee’d. This all-new Kia model is actually based on the latest Cee’d platform. It’s only designed to be a little longer and less wide than the mentioned hatchback. That makes it possible for the Kia Carens to include that third row of seats considered a must inside family cars. To complete the expected family look, the Carens also makes available for its passengers cubby holes and cup holders. In the same time it allows the parents to fold that extra row of seats in order to get more space for luggage. Even the second row is foldable while the seats can be each moved back and forth.
What you won’t find on the all-new Kia Carens is a sliding door although this new model is supposed to be a suitable replacement for the current Carens as well as for the Sedona MPV. Kia’s officials said that such a door was considered but the designers were sure that it would negatively affect the car’s overall look, so it was not turned into reality. What the designers agreed to make available for this new Carens is a range of premium options that includes smart park assist and heated rear seats.
Kia decided to also be generous when it comes to the engine options made available. In the UK, interested buyers will most likely be able to choose between a 1.7-litre diesel engine and a GDI petrol engine with a capacity of 1.6 litres.
