‘Modern Family’ and ‘Homeland’ Are the Big Winners at Emmys

Homeland struck a chord with Emmy Award voters, being crowned best drama series and earning Damian Lewis and Claire Danes lead acting awards

It was Homeland that dominated the 64th Annual Emmy Awards in Los Angeles. 

The Showtime series took home multiple awards throughout the evening, including the coveted prize for Best Drama Series. 

Also winning big for Homeland: stars Claire Danes and Damian Lewis, who won for Outstanding Leading Actor and Leading Actress. 

During her acceptance speech, pregnant Claire made a touching tribute to her ‘baby daddy’ Hugh Dancy. 

Over on the comedy side, it was yet another Family affair, as the ABC comedy Modern Family took home its third-consecutive prize for Outstanding Comedy Series. 

Co-stars Julie Bowen and Eric Stonestreet each won a second Emmy for their work on the series. 

Veep star Julia Louis-Dreyfus won for Outstanding Comedy Actress, while Jon Cryer won Outstanding Comedy Actor for Two and a Half Men.
