Prince William Qualifies as a Search and Rescue Captain in Royal Air Force
Prince William has qualified as an operational search and rescue captain.
The Duke of Cambridge – known as Flight Lieutenant Wales in the military – has previously only co-piloted RAF Sea King helicopters but he will now be able to command operations.
William, who turns 30 on June 21, completed two days of ground and air-based tests and mock rescues to earn the rank after two years of flying experience.
The Royal joined C Flight, 22 Squadron at RAF Valley in Anglesey back in September 2010.
